Bon Accord - Human Heat

Bon Accord released his Unknowing EP yesterday on JUKBOXR. It’s a textural and lush creation featuring some of the most infectious and memorable material from Bon Accord to date. Glowing and seductive synth lines carry the melancholy vocals, bass and rhythmic percussive flashes build up and then shift down the songs from dance floor workouts to a 7am come-down couch session.

yurei - par avion

Dense production exposes hazy goodness that swirls into a massive abyss peppered with barely audible percussion and shimmers of melody. Dreamy, warm, and introspective.

This Huntington Beach native is all about positive vibes and serene settings. Be kind to one another, dream, be grateful, and above all don’t forget to have fun.

Arrange - Streams / At Night

Portland outfit Arrange will release his Five Years With The Sun EP on February 14th with JUKBOXR Records. Malcom says it’s a goodbye letter to Florida, the state from which he moved. The opening track is beautiful and lush, rampant with undertones of love and passing memories.

Gracie - Tryck R Treat

Philadelphia outfit Gracie has his Treehouse EP coming out February 7th on Small Plates Records. His first EP, For Summer, was light and bright. Treehouse is a dark transition album, full of introspective curiosity and melodramatic tensions.

Nakagin - Elsewhere feat. Marcus Whale

Nakagin creates something reminiscent of crude trip-hop on this tune. It can out back in July, but it’s timeless. The vocals are beautifully atonal at times, and they clash with the deep dissonant chords in the rhythm. It’s at first a little unsettling, but the rest of the tune is just as awkwardly constructed. It’s a dragging beat, but somehow all parts mesh into something I’ve had on repeat for a few days now.

Between You And Me feat. Krystal Hardwick - Wyflul (Demo)

One of our very own, Jonathan Abramson, who makes music under the moniker Between You And Me, already has an EP tucked under his belt. He’s a different face on the experimental electronic scene, providing more of a classical approach to electronic composition. Currently working on his 2012 LP, he will join forces with soul and jazz vocalist Krystal Hardwick for a few tunes. The result is something we’re going to call retro-futuristic soul… whatever that means.

Daydream Pioneer - Apples

The beat in this is tune is just so fantastic. The snare hits chop it up nicely and the simple vocal line flutters over the somewhat brash high hat. It’s a great dichotomy between the aggressive and the calm.

Tom Day - Never Give Up

Tom Day reminds me of the weird kid in third period english who never really speaks and keeps to himself, but you know he’s capable of brilliance. You’re somewhat afraid of him, but then one day he does something to get the attention of everyone in school. He surprises people with his excellent talents. His music has that same type of reserved quality, but give it some time and introspection, and you’re bound to be amazed.

Mildlife - Arriving Soon

This tune sounds like it’s pedaling through hummus. The ascending and descending colorful synth accents the mush and creates the forward moving illusion that keeps it afloat just before you think it’s about to drown.
